Schedule details:

On Friday we will be doing our service project 10:00AM  at Tanana Lakes Recreation area on South Cushman Street.

 See link to map:

We will need wards to provide transportation from the Steese chapel to this area.  We are asking if the in town wards can possibly accommodate a few extra youth then they can help transport those youth who are visiting from out of the area.

After the service project we will have lunch at the picnic area there.  After lunch the youth will be doing activities at the rec area.

Please note a few wards/branches have been assigned to help out with these activities.  Please contact the youth conference reps from these wards about the specifics of these activities to make sure that they have supplies for the activities.

Sandcastle building- North Pole Ward

Water Balloon Volley Ball- Badger Road Ward

Ultimate Frisbee-Salcha

Relay/obstacle course-

There will also be swimming and hopefully canoeing and tubing as well so make sure the youth bring clothes and footwear with them that are appropriate for these activities.  Swimwear is allowed as long as it is modest.  Youth should probably plan on bringing a towel with them to dry off after the water activities.   There are restrooms available to change.

After the water activities at 5:00pm the youth will need to be picked up at the Tanana Lakes Recreation area so they can go and change during break before dinner. We ask that the wards take responsibility to make sure that their youth have rides for this. Parents and host families can also help with this.  Dinner will start at 6:00pm that night back at the Steese Chapel.

Food

Wards and Branches should have already been notified their meal assignments.  (see schedule for assignments) Most meals will be served at the Steese Chapel with the exception of the Friday Lunch at the Tanana Lakes Area.  Please make sure that the food is ready to go on time.

We will have forks, spoons, knives, plates, bowls, napkins and cups at the Steese chapel so you do not need to buy any of these for your meals.

Reimbursement: The Stake will reimburse you for the food you purchase for the meals or anything needed for the activities the wards are helping out with.  If possible, try to have one person in the ward be responsible for doing the purchasing for the meals to simplify the reimbursement.  Please make sure you write that this is for youth conference on the reimbursement form.  If you can bring the receipts to youth conference that will help expedite your reimbursement.

Youth Conference Registration

There are about 80 forms returned for youth conference. The order has already been placed for t-shirts.   If youth have not signed up they can bring their form with them to youth conference please make sure they have a parent signature on the bottom.  A copy of the form is available on the Stake website.

Please have youth fill out a form even if they will only be attending part of youth conference.

Housing:

If there is anyone from out of the area that needs housing and has not turned in a registration form please contact Sis. Melissa Weight (888-6224 cell) so we can make sure this is arranged ahead of time.
